Dear friends:

Do you feel caught by the dilemma of paying taxes that allow war to
continue while working with your whole heart for peace and justice? If
you are looking for alternatives to paying taxes for war, join us next
Tuesday, April 3, from 7-9 pm for an in-depth discussion of various
strategies people have and are using to avoid paying taxes that support
war.

We will begin with a 30 minute sitting and then screen sections of a
film, "An Act of Conscience" that tells the story of one Massachusetts
family who risked their home rather than pay war taxes (info at:
http://www.turningtide.com/aoc.htm). After the film we will meet with
one or more people who are war tax resistors and counselors to learn
about a range of alternatives - from including a letter of protest with
your return to total non-payment of any tax, and to share our feelings,
thoughts and ideas with one another.

This will be BPF Boston's first meeting in our new location . . . the
beautiful dharma center at 75 Sparks Street that the Cambridge Buddhist
Association has generously agreed to share with us on the first Tuesday
of every month (directions:

I hope to see you there . . .

in peace, Joan
