Dear Friends at Buddhist Peace Fellowship,

I am writing to you on behalf of the Lay Committee on Contemporary
Spiritual-&-Public Concerns (the "CSPC Committee") of St. Paul Parish,
Cambridge. Our Committee was formed in May of 2005 and appears to be the
first Roman Catholic lay committee of its kind in North America. As part
of our Committee's mission, we seek to engage all sectors of the public
in a dialogue that stresses both faith and reason. We emphasize dialogue
and discernment, and create opportunities for the same by hosting a
spect rum of speakers, lay and clerical, Catholic and non-Catholic, with
professional lectures and penetrating discussions.

Our Committee is greatly honored to present this Sunday, March 11, at
St. Paul's, one of the leading academics from the Tibetan community in
Massachusetts, and the first Tibetan to be awarded a Ph.D. from Harvard,
Dr. Lobsang Sangay. In his talk for the CSPC Committee, Dr. Sangay will
explore whether the Irish /Good Friday Agreement /could be adopted as a
model for the Tibetan people as they seek a way forward. This will be a
historic talk, so we hope very much that your community can join us for
this event.

Please find in the body of this emaiI an announcement for the lecture;
and I have attached a press release, as well as a flyer, which you may
post as you think appropriate. Please publicize this event to your
community, and we will be very pleased to welcome you to join us for
this presentation on Sunday.

If you could confirm back to me if you received this email and if it is
possible for you to pass the announcement on to your community, that
would be very helpful to our outreach effort for this program.

Thank you very much,

Angela Jones

Vice President, the CSPC Committee

St. Paul’s CSPC Committee is privileged to present a Cambridge based
diplomat-scholar who has peformed notable work for the Tibetan
Government in Exile, Dr. Lobsang Sangay. He will speak in DiGiovanni
Hall, 29 Mount Auburn Street, on Sunday, March 11, at 3:30 P.M., with
questions and a reception to follow. Dr. Sangay, originally a graduate
of the Tibetan Refugee School, is the first Tibetan to receive a
doctorate from Harvard; he has been consulted by the BBC, the /Boston
Globe,/ the /Wall Street Journal,/ the /Washington Post,/ etc. For
eleven years, Dr. Sangay has been organizing conferences between Chinese
and Tibetan scholars, including an unprecedented conference with the
Dalai Lama at Harvard in 2003. Now, in an equally unprecedented move,
Dr. Sangay will ask whether the future of the Tibetan people might best
be assured by adopting the Irish /Good Friday Agreement/ as a model.
This is an historic talk! Plan to be there on the 11^th ! Also mark your
calendars for Saturday evening, April 21^st , when CSPC presents the
preeminent Catholic global negotiator, Rev. Raymond Helmick S.J. from
Boston College.
